Description
The HCMA is seeking individuals with prior board experience to serve 2-year terms.

Description
Training will be provided to discussion group leaders. Meetings will be monthly and held on Zoom. Discussion group leaders will be responsible for the management of the meeting and submitting post-meeting reports to the HCMA office and other administrative functions.

The primary mission of this initiative is to improve state level legislation as it relates to improving surveillance of heart disease in the young through improved “well-child” exams and “pre-participation evaluations” for student athletes (including band and interscholastic activities). Additionally review and suggested improved legislative language as it relates to AED, CPR, Emergency response training, Good Samaritan coverage for life-saving efforts.

Large and small fundraisers will be worked on over the coming years. We are seeking a group of volunteers to assist in our efforts to raise funds to provide services to HCM families.

The role of the Medical Affairs Committee is to maintain scientific and clinical accuracy as well as rigor of the medical literature and standard of care for HCM that is relied upon or included in all functions and operations of HCMA, its programs, its publications and communications, and its representation to HCM patients, family members, and caregivers.


Description
The role of the Patient Education Committee is to provide materials to improve the understanding of HCM.  These materials will be regularly updated and improved to make them as accessible as possible to everyone no matter their reading level, vision or hearing status, or language. The goal of this committee is to give HCM patients the tools they need to be active participants in their health care and to give them peace of mind as they cope with their diagnosis.

Description
Patients that are willing to speak with other HCM families to assist them with one on one support. To become a “Bighearted Friend” training will be required and support is offered to volunteers through the HCMA office.

Description
Patients will be selected to share their HCM experiences via Podcast, Facebook interview, or in writing which may include pictures, video, or another medium.
